Virtual Joshua Stuart Krinsky Golf Outing

In appreciation of the outstanding care Dr. Krinsky’s family received, for their son Joshua at the Infant Special Care Unit at NorthShore Evanston, they traditionally host the annual Joshua Stuart Krinsky Memorial Golf Outing.

This year's event will be a virtual fundraiser to support NorthShore’s Perinatal Family Support Center.

Johnny and Carolina Mariduena are open for business selling snow cones to raise funds for Covid Care Kits. As a rising middle-schooler, Johnny’s parents thought the time was right to introduce him to the importance of giving back.

Integrative Medicine Therapies for NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center Patients


On Saturday, January 11, 2020, Sons of the Silent Age performed David Bowie’s “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars” and “Station to Station” in their entirety at the Metro in Chicago. They were joined by special guest, actor Michael Shannon. The Ready Freddies performed an opening set of the music of Queen.

Over 1,000 attendees gathered to raise more than $60,000 to help provide integrative medicine therapies for NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center patients.

The support helps cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation receive Integrative Medicine services to relieve pain and neuropathies, reduce fatigue and sleep issues, boost immunity, provide stress relief, improve appetite and improve quality of life.

 

 

Joshua Stuart Krinsky Memorial Golf Outing

All contributions and proceeds from the annual Joshua Stuart Krinsky Memorial Golf Outing directly support the Perinatal Family

Support Center at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) to honor the memory of Joshua Stuart Krinsky. 

Thirty-five years ago, Dr. Harold Krinsky’s son, Joshua, was born prematurely. He was taken immediately to the Infant Special Care Unit at NorthShore Evanston Hospital, where he spent the next seven months of his life. Despite the heroic efforts of the dedicated and skilled neonatal doctors and nurses, Joshua could not overcome his serious health issues and passed away.

In appreciation of the outstanding care Dr. Krinsky’s family received, he hosts the annual Joshua Stuart Krinsky Memorial Golf Outing, Silent Auction and Dinner to provide philanthropic funding for NorthShore’s Perinatal Family Support Center.

ADP Golf “Fore” Life

Celebrating their 8th year, ADP Golf “Fore” Life Outing benefits the NorthShore University HealthSystem Kellogg Cancer Center. This year’s event is on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Deerfield Gold Club in Riverwoods.

The outing includes a fun round of scramble golf, post game celebration with raffles, and a buffet dinner.

Through the generous support of the ADP Gold “Fore” Life Outing, Kellogg Cancer Center has been able to purchase an Advanced IV Placement machine, and scales to weigh wheelchair bound patients. In addition, funding has been provided to the nurse navigator team who assist patients navigate through the myriad of cancer related issues. Last year our donation supported emotional and practical support for patients and their families.

The Sisters Project

July 2—29, 2019

In celebration of Donna Johnston’s life and work as an artist, her sister and fellow-artist Margi Hafer conceived The Sister Project. Over 57 artists have contributed to complete Donna’s unfinished body of work completing them with watercolor, collage, or mixed media techniques of their choice. Donna's name (either D.L. On Saturday, May 18, 2019, Michael Matters held their Racing to Beat Brain Cancer annual fundraiser on the same day as the Preakness Stakes. The afternoon featired races, food, drink, fantastic auction items, and winning horses—all while supporting brain cancer patients and their families. Think Pink

 

On Saturday, May 18, 2019 family, friends and neighbors came together for the Think Pink 2019 fun run or walk to raise funds for breast cancer research being conducted by Director of NorthShore's Breast Surgery Division Katharine Yao, MD. Evanston resident Olivia Ohlson hosts pink ribbon cookie and pink lemonade sales at her home in honor of her mother, Gini, who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer at NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center. Thus far, Olivia has raised more than $6,000 to help other breast cancer patients. Learn more

On January 12, 2019, Sons of the Silent Age performed a benefit concert with 1,000 attendees at the Metro in Chicago. A portion of proceeds from the concert provides integrative medicine therapies for NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center patients. Learn more

 

 

 

During the month of November, local community members, such as the Highland Park Police Department, and NorthShore employees grew mustaches to help raise awareness about men's health and cancer. HeadStrong Voices for Healing is a newly formed group of patients whose exceptional physicians and specialists provided exceptional care that inspired them to help future head and neck cancer patients.  The 3rd Annual Sharon Ellen Louis Fund (SELF) Charity Event was held on November 10, 2018 at Point & Feather at 8 pm to celebrate the life of Sharon Ellen Louis. Donations will be directed toward finding a cure for the Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) at NorthShore. Tickets are $75. For more information, click here.

 

  

Friends and family gathered on October 14, 2018 for an event in memory of Karen Dove Cabral and all those who have been touched by breast cancer. Farm-to-table food, a silent auction and more were on hand for attendees. All proceeds benefited NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center and mothers battling breast cancer.  Sing to Live

 

On October 20 and 21, the Sing to Live Community Chorus hosted their Fall Concerts in Glenview and Oak Park. Sing to Live was created to provide a musical outlet for singers whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. The annual Joshua Stuart Krinsky Golf Outing took place on September 14, with funds raised supporting the Infant Special Care Unit and Perinatal Family Support Center at NorthShore.

 

 

 

 



Lily Grossmann and friends created and donated over 50 pillows to Kellogg Cancer Center for her Bat Mitzvah project. These cute and comforting pillows were distributed to Kellogg Cancer Center patients at Highland Park Hospital. Each pillow carried a “Made With Love” tag and some included a special message as well.

Friends and family teed off for the memorial golf outing in honor of Al Petersen and all those who have been touched by cancer on August 18, 2018 at the 7th Annual ADP Golf "Fore" Life Event. Think Pink



An annual Mother's Day tradition, the Prassas and Thompson families hosted the Think Pink Fun Run throughout their neighborhood on May 13, 2018. The event brings together family, friends and neighbors for a low-key fun run or walk to raise funds for breast cancer research being conducted by Director of NorthShore’s Breast Surgery Division Katharine Yao, MD.

On February 2, 2018, The Michael Matters Foundation hosted its fifth annual "New Year, Same Wish" fundraiser at Viper Alley in Lincolnshire. The evening raised funds to benefit NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center. The Michael Matters Foundation, Inc. was founded in honor of a wonderful father, husband and man, Michael P. Schostok, who succumbed to a glioblastoma brain tumor in 2012 at the age of 51. For more information, visit michaelmatters.org.

Embrace the Race

 

The 6th Annual Embrace the Race 5K was held on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14, 2017 in Highland Park. Embrace the Race is a fun and inspiring event to raise funds for breast and ovarian cancer research at NorthShore. Click here for more information.

Family and friends gathered for the Annual Billie S. Booth Event on Sunday, March 12 at Boelter Chicago. This year's event, hosted by Bev Strellner and Joe Dalton, featured wine tastings, great food, and raffle prizes. Funds raised support NorthShore's Nursing Scholarship Fund, helping to ensure patients receive the highest quality care from their nurses.

 

 

Paint Night

The organization Stay Strong and Mahj On hosted a paint night to support NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center. On Sunday, March 5, firends and supporters gathered at Pinot's Palette in Glenview for a fun and creative night of painting. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help Stay Strong and Mahj On with their initiative to provide Mahj sets and other games to Kellogg Cancer Center to help patients going through treatment.

 

 


 

 

Whole Foods

 

On Tuesday, January 24, 2017 eight Whole Foods Market locations throughout the North Shore donated 5% of net sales to support patients at Kellogg Cancer Center.  Participating locations included Deerfield, Evanston Chicago Ave., Evanston Green Bay Road, Evanston South, Kildeer, Northbrook, Park Ridge and Schaumburg.

 

 

Nothing Bundt Cakes
As part of its grand opening celebrations, the Deerfield Nothing Bundt Cakes location held a 20% give back day to support NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center on Friday, January 13. Click here for details about the bakery.   




The 5th Annual Homemade Half Marathon and Almost 10k took place on Sunday, November 20 at 8:00 a.m. at Foster Avenue Beach in Chicago. Friends and Family came together to run and have fun while raising money for Kellogg Cancer Center in honor of Coach Katie and her fight against breast cancer. Friends and family of Sharon Louis hosted their first annual fundraiser at Bull & Bear on Saturday, November 19. Proceeds raised support cancer research at NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center. The event was organized by Lindsey, Stephanie, and Julie Louis in memory of her mother, Sharon, who passed away from Cancer of the Unknown Primary.
