The Associate Board

Become part of something amazing with The Associate Board.

Composed of some seriously passionate young professionals, The Associate Board of NorthShore University HealthSystem offers philanthropic, social, educational and volunteer service opportunities for young adults in their 20s and 30s who want to create positive change in our local community.

Since 2003, The Associate Board has raised more than $1 million to benefit newborn care in NorthShore Evanston Hospital’s Henrietta Johnson Louis Infant Special Care Unit (ISCU) and the Department of Pediatrics. Philanthropy generated by our Board has launched vital patient care programs, supported groundbreaking academic studies, and led to the establishment of The Associate Board Emergency Family Fund—which provides direct support to underserved families through NorthShore’s Perinatal Family Support Center.

In addition to advancing NorthShore’s mission to preserve and improve human life, our members:

  • Build professional and social networks
  • Develop new skills—including how to plan a successful Annual Benefit
  • Create lasting change in our community

If The Associate Board sounds like a good way for you to “give back” or “pay it forward,” we invite you to submit your application for membership! For more information about joining The Associate Board or our upcoming events, please contact associateboard@northshore.org or call 224.364.7275. We encourage you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

I joined The Associate Board because both of my brothers previously served on the board in various roles and had amazing experiences. After learning about the mission of NorthShore University HealthSystem, I felt compelled to join. Volunteering in the healthcare space is something I’ve always wanted to do.”

Dan Atwood, 2022 Benefit Co-Chair, President-Elect

I joined the Associate Board three years ago because I’m passionate about making a difference in healthcare and wanted to contribute back to my community.”

Navya Kumar, Membership & Corporate Outreach Co-Chair

On the Associate Board, you get to meet an incredibly talented, diverse group of young professionals who are all dedicated toward a common goal. If you have a passion for healthcare or research, or have a personal connection to the cause, joining the Board is a great opportunity to give back.”
