On Feb. 8, The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) came together to recognize members’ significant philanthropic contributions to NorthShore over the years, including special grant awards to celebrate NorthShore’s 125th anniversary. Since its founding in 1936, The Auxiliary has raised more than $22 million. During the evening, The Auxiliary acknowledged winners of $300,000 in grants that were most recently awarded for projects that will significantly enhance the quality and spectrum of care for patients and families in our communities. Winning projects include:

•  Creating a Better Patient Experience Through Patient ID Technology
•  Find MODY (Maturity-Onset Diabetes of the Young)
•  Integrative Medicine Services for Underserved Pediatric Patients
•  Inherited Cancer Panel Performance Predicting Outcomes Among Patients Diagnosed with Lung Cancer
•  Pilot Study for Efficacy and Safety of Glanatec Ophthalmic Solution for the Cornea.

In addition to these grants, The Auxiliary also recently awarded $425,000 from its 2017 American Craft Exposition (ACE) to Karen Kaul, MD, PhD, and Jason Koh, MD, MBA, to benefit pharmacogenomics and orthopaedic regenerative medicine research, respectively. Plans are underway for ACE 2018, which will benefit the expansion of mental health services at NorthShore. Click here to learn more about ACE or here to support its funding cause.
