The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem

The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem was a fundraising organization of volunteers active from 1936 to 2022 devoted to improving healthcare programs and resources at NorthShore hospitals and in the communities we serve.

Through the years, The Auxiliary hosted many successful fundraising events: Galas, Soirees and Trivia Nights, among others. The Auxiliary also created a fine craft show, the American Craft Exposition (ACE), which annually showcased more than 150 artisans from across the country and their unique, museum-quality work. As part of their service to NorthShore, Auxiliary members historically worked in the hospital gift shops, awarded college scholarships to high school seniors pursuing a career in nursing and organized diaper drives to benefit the Perinatal Family Support Center at NorthShore.

The Auxiliary is proud to have raised $25 million over their 86-year tenure to improve the health and wellness of our NorthShore community. The Auxiliary funded projects across NorthShore to support maternal health, find a cure for breast and ovarian cancers, further pharmacogenomics research, improve access to mental health services and more. Although The Auxiliary has closed its doors, its contributions have enriched the lives of countless patients and others in NorthShore’s connected community. Its legacy is legendary.
