The Auxiliary Projects and Events
The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) supports the Hospitals and community of NorthShore not only through their fundraising events, but also through various service projects. Your philanthropic donation of time and talent helps the Auxiliary serve the community with an annual nursing scholarship, flowers for NorthShore University HealthSystem patients, coloring books for Emergency Department waiting rooms, a diaper drive for families in need and much more. For more information or to volunteer for any of these projects, please contact The Auxiliary at 224.364.7270.
Auxiliary Annual Meetings
Each Spring and Fall, The Auxiliary hosts an annual meeting, which are open to all Auxiliary members and their guests. Meetings feature speakers from across NorthShore and provide a chance for members to socialize over breakfast.
Save the date for the next Spring Meeting on May 11, 2016. For more information, please contact The Auxiliary.
Auxiliary Board Members Amita Khandekar and Sandy Cotler with The Auxiliary's 2015 Nursing Scholarship award winners
Every Spring, The Auxiliary offers a $5,000 college scholarship to a high school senior in our core service area who plans to pursue an education in the field of nursing. This year, The Auxiliary provided three $5,000 scholarships to well deserving high school seniors. The current nursing shortage crisis has been strongly documented, both nationally and regionally. Since NorthShore is committed to the future of healthcare, Auxiliary members feel that this scholarship is a well-directed effort.
Congratulations to the 2015 Nursing Scholarship Winners Claire Hansen, Talia Morris and Madeline Stadler. For more information about the scholarship, contact The Auxiliary at 224.364.7270.
Diapers in December
Each December, The Auxiliary hosts a diaper drive to benefit NorthShore Perinatal Family Support Center. In 2015, The Auxiliary collected over 15,000 diapers, which were distributed to local families in need through the Center.
The Perinatal Family Support Center provides a wide array of services to women and their families who experience challenges related to pregnancy, birth, prematurity and perinatal loss. The Center also provides resources for over 1,800 underserved families annually and all services are provided free of charge.
