Planned Giving

Giving Today that Lasts Lifetimes

Since NorthShore opened its doors in 1891, community-based philanthropy has sustained us. More than a century later, our philanthropic partners continue to make transformative, life-changing healthcare available to those who need it most.

Your Lasting Impact

Our friend and valued partner Mrs. Lorraine G. Scott generously donated to NorthShore for many years until her death in 2020. Prior to her passing, Lorraine decided to make ongoing support of the NorthShore Orthopaedic & Spine Institute a part of her personal legacy. With a $3 million seed gift, her estate established The Lorraine G. Scott Fund honoring James Kudrna, MD, PhD—the doctor who treated Lorraine’s late husband, Jim, and became a dear family friend.

Lorraine hoped to inspire others to give to NorthShore to help transform how we deliver care—just as her legacy of giving will transform lives for generations to come.

If you’re looking for ways to support the healing work we do at NorthShore, we invite you to learn more about planned giving. Whether it’s naming us in your will or making an IRA qualified charitable distribution, there are many ways to make sure the vital support you generously provided during your lifetime will continue for generations to come.
