Academic Scholarship and Fellowships
The future’s brightest physicians, scientists and nurses are nurtured through philanthropic investments that allow for exceptional opportunities to strengthen their knowledge or promote their research.
Our teaching affiliation with the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine places NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) at the forefront of medical education and brings some of the brightest young minds here to train as medical students, residents and fellows in our hospitals. NorthShore sets the highest standards for training and educating the next generation of physicians. Through participation in professional conferences and lectureships, national certification courses and mentoring programs, our teams of physicians, residents and healthcare professionals are able to share their experience and learn from experts to constantly improve the delivery of multifaceted care.
NorthShore’s Endowed Chairmanships enables our physician-scientists to pioneer new frontiers in medicine, whether it’s gene therapy, innovative treatments to repair damaged heart valves or new ways to pursue a cure for cancer by combining basic molecular biology and clinical medicine.Nursing STARs - a partnership between NorthShore Foundation and the Department of Nursing—invites people to Say Thanks And Recognize the excellent care they, or their families, have received from a nurse, patient care technician, mental health counselor or an entire team of caregivers. Gifts made to Nursing STARs directly support NorthShore’s Nursing Scholarship Fund and enables us to award more scholarships to help advance nursing professional development.
Such support ensures continued excellence throughout NorthShore, with our patients and families as the ultimate beneficiaries of this knowledge and experience. Your generous partnership can provide our physicians, clinical professionals, medical students and nurses with rewarding learning opportunities and valuable educational tools to enhance their professional development.
